60+ New Cross-Command SOPs in Record Time

The Challenge

A major was focused on optimizing crisis response and decision action within a multinational coalition. For daily or everyday response, tasks were put into a checklist, which forced users to lose all version control.

The Onebrief Solution

Areas of the platform that produced outcomes include:

Translations: Created a single source of truth understood by all.

Products: A single source of truth - the entire Crisis Action Team was able to simultaneously update, validate, and confirm information on Onebrief, which functioned as the central interface for making changes.

Data Visualization: Onebrief’s user-friendly interface includes easily modifiable cards and lists. Users were able to understand, analyze, and communicate more easily than ever before.

Cards + Lists: In this case, SOPs and their respective statuses/actions) can be updated in real time, communicating critical information instantly. Lists helped organize SOPs by section and staff could effectively manage their responsibilities.

Seamless collaboration: Allowed multiple users to update sections in real time, impacting the change on the slides that functioned as the dashboard.

Version Control: Being able to see the tracked changes and when the changes were made, the users could tell right away how up-to-date the information is and which inputs are most recent, versus which inputs are outdated or pending updates.

Expert Partnership & Rapid Support: Onebrief’s S2 support taught new users in real time. They also supported plan creation and building infrastructure pre-, during, and post- exercise (AAR).

Outcomes

The champion user put together 60+ crisis action SOPs in just a few weeks. This effort, if even possible in existing legacy tools, would have taken months. Onboarding would have taken even longer. In a rapid timeline, and in partnership with the Onebrief support team, this user had a product that was ready to be briefed to the General in record time.

In a connected, foreign partner command, they focused on enabling a simple login and UX, language translation, user-friendly and accessible dashboarding, and seamless status changes

In a connected area, the US counterparts are immediately notified of status changes and can collaborate on task lists quickly in Onebrief.
